The Riebeek Valley – One of the oldest towns in South Africa. Rich in its history, as well as established for good wines, olives, grapes and more. A small community town surrounded by bric a brac antique shops, small restaurants and an art gallery.
This is a tourist destination for short escapes, surreal landscapes and surroundings, not to mention The Royal Hotel – untouched and special with the longest outdoor deck and gin bar in the southern hemisphere! Riebeek Kasteel is also the home to the annual Solo studios event in August. From the days of when I owned a guest house in this area, a collage of images that inspired this journey- https://www.instagram.com/Riebeek_valley_you_beauty
Only 5km away there is a great restaurant (very easy and relaxed environment) that I recommend in Riebeek West – Maras
Tulbagh – the most beautiful combination of landscape, art and wine (luckily I don’t drink so you are safe with me). Expect to see stunning views of the Witzenberg Mountains, picturesque vineyards, and charming 19th-century architecture nestled within serene countryside landscapes, vibrant autumn colours and rich cultural heritage.
Farms that we will visit include Saronsberg and MontPellier. We will also take a moment to capture Kerk Straat, a quaint and historic setting with beautifully preserved Cape Dutch architecture, tree-lined avenues, and the charm of a small-town atmosphere.
